- Visitation Team
(12/30/08) pBack-to-Top
-
- Our team recognizes that the church is the people of God
doing the work of God. We offer ministry to the members of our congregation
and extended family who are physically removed
so that they feel spiritually connected
with the Body of Christ. We provide monthly home visits, soup
delivery, hospital visits, transportation to appointments as needed,
delivery of quilts/prayer shawls, weekly homebound newsletter, delivery of
flowers, and serving communion. If you are interested
in this for yourself or someone you know, please contact the Church Office @ 697-8400
or by email.

Extended Table Program Ministry (1/24/09) pBack-to-Top
-
The
Extended Table Program connects our Communion
Table to our fellowship with food
events of this congregation. Events may include Shrove
Tuesday Pancake Dinner, Easter Sunday Sunrise Breakfast, the Church Picnic,
Golf Tournament Banquet, special cake, punch and cookie receptions, new
Comfirmands dinner and Pastor Appreciation Sunday. You can pick and choose
among these events and special one-time gatherings that interest you or when
you have the time to participate. The talents needed vary as well, ranging
from providing baked goods or a covered dish, setting up or serving cake and
punch, clean-up, scrambling eggs or flipping pancakes on the grill, ordering
food, or coordinating a banquet dinner/picnic. “Many hands make light work”
- won’t you lend yours to help set our Extended Table of fellowship? Contact
the church office to volunteer, 697-8400.

Bereavement Reception
Team
(2/6/09)
pBack-to-Top
-
The Bereavement Reception Team is one of those behind the scenes ministries
here at Wyoming UMC … until there is a death. It is then that this small
group of ladies, headed by co-chairs Ann Anderson and Elaine Bilow, spring
into action to bring comfort to family and friends in the form of food and
fellowship. This team’s ministry, as approved by the Church Council, is
offered freely, at the discretion of the senior pastor, to church members
and to those who are regular attendees. Monetary donations are accepted by
simply writing ‘BRT’ on the memo line, but are strictly optional.
We offer two different reception options: a lunch meal or cookies and punch.
The lunch meal consists of ham, potato salad, coleslaw, rolls, coffee and
iced tea, with cake for dessert. We set up, serve, and clean up. We also
package up any/all leftovers for the family to disperse as they see fit.
With the exception of the cakes and cookies, all food is purchased either at
Sam’s Club or at Witt Bros. Market. If you prefer not to take advantage of
one of these options, you may arrange with the church office to use
Fellowship Hall totally on your own. This way you provide your own food and
beverage, and are responsible for the care of the hall. The BRT is here for
you when you need us, but we most definitely prefer to remain behind the
scenes.

Vacation Bible School
(original)
pBack-to-Top
- VBS is offered every June for a week. It is held in the
mornings for children ages 4 years to 6th grade and is a time of fun with
singing, crafts, games, dramas, Bible stories, and more. During the week we
have over 200 children exposed to the word of God. There is a great need for
adult volunteers to teach, prepare snacks, lead singing, organize games,
help with crafts, work in the nursery, work registration, etc. If interested
in helping with VBS please call the church office @ 697-8400. Click
Signup Form to enroll for VBS from June
16-20, 2008.

pBack-to-Top
- This group meets at the church the
1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month from

sharing praises and prayer requests time is spent studying a book of the
Bible or using a study book. When a 5th Wednesday
occurs, an outing is planned such as a visit to a museum, trip to the beach
or shopping - and of course lunch. All ladies are invited to join at
anytime. Barbara Shaw and
Lee Gabler are the coordinators.

Knitting to Nurture
(1/24/09)
pBack-to-Top
- This group of beginning and experienced knitters meets at
the church on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 10:30am to
12:30pm, September through May.
The primary purpose is to knit "prayer shawls" that are given to members of
the church and community as tangible evidence of our prayers and caring for
them. We also have other projects that touch the lives of those in
need at the local, national, and international level. Join us to
fellowship, pray and bless others with the work of our hands.
- Friday
Help Team and Newsletter Team
(01/21/09)
pBack-to-Top
- Friday is the busiest day of the week in the church
office. With three and sometimes four services over the weekend there is a
lot of copying and folding to be done. The monthly newsletter is another
massive undertaking. With the newsletter reaching 20 pages, there is plenty
of copying and stuffing to do. Not to mention affixing address labels and
getting the whole thing to the post office. Contact the Church Office if you
would like to help either of these needs.
-
Technology Team (9/07/09)
pBack-to-Top

related tasks. The scope may include any or all aspects of the full life
cycle of technologies such as audio/video and computing. For more information, contact
