- Visitation Team
(10/02/07)
- Our team recognizes that the church is the people of God
doing the work of God. We offer ministry to the members of our congregation
and extended family who are physically removed
so that they feel spiritually connected
with the Body of Christ. We provide monthly home visits, soup
delivery, hospital visits, transportation to appointments as needed,
delivery of quilts/prayer shawls, weekly homebound newsletter, delivery of
flowers, and serving communion. If you are interested
in this for yourself or someone you know, please call the Church Office @ 697-6651.

Table to our fellowship with food
events of this congregation. Events may include Shrove

Golf Tournament Banquet, special cake, punch and cookie receptions, new
Comfirmands dinner and Pastor Appreciation Sunday. You can pick and choose
among these events and special one-time gatherings that interest you or when
you have the time to participate. The talents needed vary as well, ranging
from providing baked goods or a covered dish, setting up or serving cake and
punch, clean-up, scrambling eggs or flipping pancakes on the grill, ordering
food, or coordinating a banquet dinner/picnic. “Many hands make light work”
- won’t you lend yours to help set our Extended Table of fellowship? Contact
the church office to volunteer, 697-6651.

Bereavement Reception
Team
(9/26/07)
- The Bereavement Team is a group of devoted women who, in
Fellowship Hall, provide comfort in the form of
food and fellowship, after a
funeral or memorial service, to church families. As
co-chairmen, Ann Anderson and Elaine Bilow take their direction from Pastor
Patti Collett after her condolence/planning meeting with the family. Two
options are offered--either a reception providing cookies and iced tea
and/or coffee, or a stand-up meal consisting of ham, potato salad, coleslaw,
rolls, cake, coffee and/or iced tea. Team members are asked to help with
this providing by baking cookies or cakes, and by sometimes making potato
salad and/or coleslaw. On the day of the service, one or more team members,
depending on the number of expected attendees, is asked to assist Ann and
Elaine with set-up, serving and clean-up. There is no fee for this ministry,
though the family may choose to contribute to the Bereavement Team Fund. If
you are interested in serving, or in need of this service, please contact Church Office @ 697-6651.
- Vacation Bible School

mornings for children ages 4 years to 6th grade and is a time of fun with
singing, crafts, games, dramas, Bible stories, and more. During the week we

adult volunteers to teach, prepare snacks, lead singing, organize games,
help with crafts, work in the nursery, work registration, etc. If interested
in helping with VBS please call the church office @ 697-6651. Click

Knitting to Nurture (original)
- This group of beginning and experienced knitters meets at
the church on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 10:30am to
12:30pm, September through May.
The primary purpose is to knit "prayer shawls" that are given to members of
the church and community as tangible evidence of our prayers and caring for
them. We also have other projects that touch the lives of those in
need at the local, national, and international level. Join us to
fellowship, pray and bless others with the work of our hands.
- Friday
Help Team and Newsletter Team
(original)
- Friday is the busiest day of the week in the church
office. With three and sometimes four services over the weekend there
is a lot of copying and folding to be done. The monthly newsletter is
another massive undertaking. With the newsletter reaching 14 pages,
there is a lot of copying, stapling, and folding to do. Not to mention
affixing address labels and getting the whole thing to the post office.
Contact the Church Office if you would like to help either of these needs.
- New
Member Mentoring (original)
- This ministry provides support to our newest members by
assisting them in connecting with the church. We hope this will enable
new members to more quickly feel a part of the family here at Wyoming and to
find their places in the life and ministry of Wyoming UMC.
-

consulting with other teams to actually carrying out various technology
related tasks. The scope may include any or all aspects of the full life
cycle of technologies such as audio/video, organ, telephone/voice, security,
